About Me

Hi, I’m Ashley Widmayer, LPC — a therapist, a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), animal lover, and someone who knows what it’s like to feel a lot.

From a young age, I was endlessly curious about why people think, feel, and act the way they do. I noticed that not everyone was treated with kindness or understanding — and I wanted to change that. I also noticed that I felt different. My emotions were intense, my senses overwhelmed easily, and anxiety felt like a constant nagging voice or tremor I couldn’t pin down. I didn’t always have the words for it back then, but now I know: I’m a Highly Sensitive Person. And I’ve come to see that sensitivity as a strength.

That journey — of learning to understand myself, to work on holding compassion for my story, and to start to identify and honor my own needs — is the same kind of healing I now support my clients through.

Today, I specialize in working with high-achieving adults who feel lost beneath perfectionism, people-pleasing, and persistent self-doubt. My clients often appear to have it all together on the outside, but inside they feel anxious, disconnected, and unsure of who they really are.

In our work together, I will offer a space where you don’t have to perform. You get to be human — messy, emotional, unsure — and still held with respect and care. I’ll help you tune in to your body’s wisdom, reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been pushed down or forgotten, and gently shift the beliefs that no longer serve you.

You can expect therapy with me to feel like a conversation with someone who really gets you — warm, relaxed, and collaborative. While I bring nearly 20 years of experience and training, I always center the work around your needs and goals. Our time together is your time, and we'll work as a team to determine what you need in each session.
